Frequently asked questions

What is NoiseJar?

A collaboration platform for audio. Upload tracks to a project, leave timestamped comments and reactions, and work through revisions with your team or clients.

How is NoiseJar different from SoundCloud?

SoundCloud is a public streaming and discovery platform — it's built for sharing music with the world.

NoiseJar is a private workspace for collaborating on audio before it's finished. You get project-scoped access control, commenting with clear & precise timecode assignments, sections that let you structure your recording, and a high-resolution waveform that makes it easy to visually pinpoint exactly where something happens.

Think of SoundCloud as the stage; NoiseJar is the rehearsal room.

Which audio formats are supported?

WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG and Opus. Audio will be streamed in the format you upload (for WAV/AIFF, lossless FLAC compression is used for streaming)

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. NoiseJar is fully responsive and the audio player is optimised for mobile, so you can review tracks and comment on the go.

How do I invite collaborators?

Project owners can invite people by email. Each invitee gets a link to set their password and join.

Can I share a track with someone who doesn't have an account?

Yes. From any file page you can generate a secret share link. Anyone with the link can stream the track and see the waveform — no sign-up required. You can revoke the link at any time to cut off access.

How much does it cost?

Currently, NoiseJar access is per invitation only. A pricing will be announced soon.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored on servers located within the European Union (EU).

Is my uploaded audio used for anything else?

No. Your uploaded files are used solely to provide the service to you and your collaborators. We never use your data for any other purpose — and in particular, your audio is never used to train AI models.
